Rizalino Viernes Miguel

Rizalino Viernes Miguel, 78, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 6th, 2017 at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Beloved husband of Flora, his wife of 47 years; dear father of Rowell (Lyza), Jaymie and Steven; loving grandfather of Sabrina and Jacob.  Born in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Esteban and Rufina Miguel; he was the 4th of 5 children.  Moving to Manila after high school, he saved money while working as a messenger to attend college. He graduated from the University of the East with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majors in Banking and Finance.  He met his wife, Flora Valencia, through his youngest sister, Amelita. and they were married on December 24, 1970 at St. Loreto Church in Sampaloc, Manila. They emigrated from the Philippines to the U.S.  in 1973.  Testing with and being accepted by AT&T, he worked as a dispatcher for 26 years before retiring in 1999.  He had an abiding love of gardening and reading and attended church and prayer groups regularly.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, the 12th of April, 2 pm at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church (130 N Pecos Rd, Henderson, NV 89074). A memorial will be held the following day from 1-5 pm at La Paloma Funeral Services (5450 Stephanie St, Las Vegas, NV 89122).

    Prayers for Boy… may he find peace in the arms of the Lord. Our condolences to Flora , their children, relatives and friends.

    I will miss Uncle Boy, he was a great example of a man with a quiet strength. He was a very understanding and loving Tatay and great husband. My deepest condolences to Auntie Flora, Rowell, Lyza (Sabrina & Jacob), Jaymie, Steven.
