Robyn Marie Garacochea
Robyn Marie Garacochea was taken from this life far too soon on Saturday, April 21, 2018, surrounded by friends and loved ones when she succumbed to a hard-fought 10 month battle with brain cancer. Robyn will forever be remembered for her radiant smile and infectious laughter. A lover of
travel, sushi, and her dog Ruger, Robyn brightened every room she walked into, and made it her mission to lift others’ spirits when they were feeling down. She was that rare person for whom no one ever said an unkind word. Born May 5, 1971 at Saint Mary’s hospital in Santa Monica, Robyn moved to Truckee, California at an early age with her family and graduated from Truckee High School in 1989. She loved working at APS, where she saw her boss Roger as a father and mentor, and celebrated a proud moment in her life when she bought her own house at 3345 4 th Street in Sparks, Nevada,
where her memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2pm. One of the brightest lights to ever shine left our world, and the heavens gained an angel. She is remembered by David Badolato, who stayed close to her side while she fought cancer’s effects. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver Eric for his compassionate service.
Robyn is survived by her daughter Kylee Lamoreux, mother Rose Gavica, her sister Renee Garacochea, brothers Paul and Steve Garacochea, brother-in- law Gene Owens, grandmother Gloria Garacochea, aunt Irene Howard, and cousin Wayne Howard who was also one of her dearest friends.
