Rocky Lee Mossett
Rocky Lee Mossett, 64, of Las Vegas Nevada passed away at 3:02 AM on Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was born July 1, 1953 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Lawrence and Helen Mossett. He was the second youngest of ten children. On April 6, 1980 he married, and is now survived by Rhonda Mossett, his best friend and soul mate. They were together, side by side until the very end. Also surviving Rocky are his son Jason of Las Vegas Nevada, daughter Stephanie of Westport Washington, grandchildren Landon and Keira, brothers Jim and Johnny, sisters Betty, Shirley, Lila and Debbie, many extended family and friends, and his dogs Rolo and Ruby. Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, his grandsons Owen and Hunter, brothers Chester and Larry, and sister Karen.
Rocky was a long-time resident of Las Vegas where he lived since leaving Washington in 1997. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed classic rock, muscle cars and drag races, old westerns, all things “Las Vegas”, all things “Red, White and Blue” and painting things bright and fun colors. Rocky loved his family…it was evident in all that he said and did. He raised his children to know love, honor, and respect; and more importantly to know God. He loved to spend time with his
grandkids. He was a master at winning them prizes from claw machines and he left them the best messages on voicemail. It was not unusual for him to be found watching the jets fly over Nellis, throwing the ball for Ruby, playing pool with Jason, planning trips or doing something sweet for Rhonda, or chatting with a friend, neighbor or someone that he just met. He has been described as loving, sweet, feisty at times, larger than life, a joy to be around, always happy to help, friendly, having a contagious smile, a great family man, and a dad who gave so much for his kids and family. He is loved beyond measure. A funeral service with military honors will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. A celebration of life will follow the service. Details will be posted on the memorial page for Rocky Lee Mossett.
Rocky’s family wish to extend their gratitude for the prayers, kinds words, shared memories, and financial support they have received during this difficult time.

After God removes wickedness and suffering, the earth will be transformed into a paradise. Then people will be able to live forever in perfect health and happiness. God’s Word foretells: “[God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.”—Revelation 21:4.
In that new world, even dead ones will be brought back to life to share in those blessings: “There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15) That is why Jesus Christ could tell a repentant evildoer who expressed faith in him: “You will be with me in Paradise.”—Luke 23:43.
I hope these thoughts provide some comfort during this difficult time.
