Ruth Ann Johnson

Ruth was born on October 19, 1953, in San Bernadino, California. She was the 1st of 4 children born to the late Charles and Homerzell Hart.

In 1968 Ruth moved to Portland Oregon to live with her grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins where she graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Community College. She later returned to Sacramento California.  Ruth was blessed with having a large family living on the East and West coasts where she enjoyed visiting and communicating with.

Ruth began her spiritual walk with the lord at an early age and strived to live her life according to God’s word. She loved the lord.

After battling with Non-Hoskins Lymphoma, Ruth lost her brave fight on February 21, 2023.  Ruth was a kind soul who enriched her life through sharing a remarkable and loving life with her entire family and many dear friends.  As an avid traveler, she loved meeting and conversating with those she met. Ruth moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be with two of her sisters and brother-in-law in September 2022. She enjoyed living a life of being a military spouse and working many years in the banking industry and recently retiring from Sierra Central Credit Union of Yuba City California after more than 20 years. Ruth’s entire working career spanned 50 years.  Ruth enjoyed the theater arts, concerts and morning exercise walks.

Ruth was always enthusiastic about volunteering to support her son’s various school events, her church and community.

Ruth is survived by her son Charles Hart Johnson of Washington DC., her sisters Patricia Curry of Las Vegas Nevada, Colonel Retired (USA) Larry and Vivian Bolton of Las Vegas Nevada, Cathy Hart of Sacramento California and nieces Jessica Bolton of Silver Spring Maryland, and Andrea Ngai of San Jose California.

Our family extends a sincere thank you for your thoughts, prayers and support during this time of sorrow.
