Scott Anthony Stone

Dr. Scott Anthony Stone, born 11/6/1962 in Corpus Christ, TX to his predeceased parents, William Michael Stone and Peggy K Cross (Cochran). Died 10/9/2022 at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX.  He lived with his bride of 30 years, Sherry Ann Stone (Blue).

Scott is an alumni of UT Austin and went to medical school at UTMB in Galveston, graduated with MD in 1991. After meeting Sherry, a Registered Nurse in 1991 while an intern in the ER, he went on to become an Emergency Physician and has worked as one ever since. Scott and Sherry built their dream home in the mountains of Washoe Valley, NV and have only lived there for 2 years.  They have traveled extensively over the years.  He was an avid scuba diver and learned to snow ski went he met Sherry.  He loved his family fiercely and will be missed dearly.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Melissa Rose Stone Bradshaw and son, Scott Andrew Stone (Kelley); his step mother, Carolyn Stone, brothers Michael Stone (Karen) and Camden Stone (Dana), sisters Lisa Rattan (Steve) and Suzette Stone (David), many nieces and nephews, sister and brother in laws.

A Celebratory Mass will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral in Reno, NV on Tues. Oct 18, at 10am.  Funeral will follow with Fr. Beda officiating.  Burial will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in Reno.

    Sorry to hear of Scott’s passing. Was hoping to send best wishes for his 60th. RIP

    • Thank you. It was quite a shock, even though he had cancer and was receiving treatments all summer. We both truly believed that he would beat this. We had a celebration of life for his 60th in the Dallas area. I’m sorry that I didn’t invite you, but I am just seeing this message now. Were you a classmate of his?
