Steven Lee Palmer
Steven Lee Palmer, of Wellington, age 71, passed away unexpectedly in Reno, going home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 31, 2022. Steve was born in Tulsa, OK on April 12, 1950.
Steven attended Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, CA, where he was a standout baseball player. The family later moved to Fair Oaks, CA, where he graduated from Bella Vista High School in 1968. Steve enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War. After serving our country, he worked as an electrician for the IBEW Local 340. Steve enjoyed camping, boating, skiing, fishing and having fun with his family and dog, Hades.
Steve was preceded in death by his son, Vance Kirk Palmer and his parents, L.E. and Katherine (June) Palmer. He is survived by his daughter, Chasity McFarlen, of Fernley and her daughter, Rebecca Leah; daughter, Melissa Bays and her husband Jason, of Placerville, CA, and their sons, Daemon and Rian; sister, Nancy Clark and her husband, Mike, of Wellington; sister, Katherine Allen, of Lenoir, NC, and brother, Lynn Palmer and his wife, Brenda, of Rogers City, MI; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins.
A private memorial will take place in the Sierra after the snow melts and the flowers begin to bloom.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Teen Challenge | Northern California & Nevada.
