Terri Ann Marotta
Terri Ann Marotta passed away December 4, 2016 after a brave and prolonged battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on March 14, 1961 in San Mateo, California to Carol Bontrager Wagers and Phillip Brooks Blanchard. She resided in Las Vegas since 1964, both before and after serving in the U.S. Navy in Patuxent River, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UNLV, and worked in computer operations for EG&G for 20 years before leaving work in 2004 to continue her fight with Multiple Sclerosis.
Terri was gentle, engaging, spirited and fearless, and always eager to try new experiences. She loved to laugh, loved life, her friends and her family. She was caring and giving and unselfishly spent time thinking and doing things to improve the lives of others. She was truly courageous and resilient in facing her MS and the pain and many challenges she incessantly endured and struggled with due to it.
She is survived by Steven Herbert Slavin, her husband of 20 years, her mother Carol Wagers, sister Claudine Noel Jacobs, father Phillip Blanchard, 3 step-brothers (Matt, Andy and Doug) and their families, 2 step-children (Stephanee Slavin-Thomas and Keith Walker), and an aunt and uncle and numerous cousins in Iowa and Nevada.
Services will be held privately. Please no flowers. Donations in Terri’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
Terri is greatly missed. Always in my heart.
I am so sorry to read about your loss, I cannot imagine the pain and loss you’re feeling at this time. I have found comfort in the words at Revelation 21:3-4, perhaps you too can find comfort in that promise. One day there will be no reason for sad tears nor will death take away those we love. With deepest sympathies.
