Virginia “Ginger” Ellen Robotham
Virginia “Ginger” Ellen Robotham, 53, a retired 28 year veteran with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department LEST Records Supervisor, passed away with her family by her side after fighting a long battle with kidney cancer at home on May 4, 2011.
Ginger the youngest of 6 was born on June 14, 1957, in Berwyn, IL, to Mary Regina “Gene” Speicher and William Arthur Harlev, with her siblings in ascending order Dorothy E. Overmeier (deceased), James A. Harlev, Catherine R. Starkey, Margaret M. Robotham, and David W. Harlev. Ginger moved to Anaheim, CA, where she was raised and went to school, graduating from Magnolia High School in 1975. After school, she moved to Las Vegas where she met and married Nellis Airman Clifford C. Robotham Jr. in 1976. Ginger was hired as a temp at LVMPD Records in 1978, and became permanent in 1979, when she gave birth to Clifford III, and again in 1983 to Timothy W. She moved to Henderson in 1985, and in 1986 gave birth to Jacob W, (wife Nicole) and again in 1988 to Katherine L. (husband Blake). Ginger has 2 grandchildren Angel L. and Clifford IV from Clifford III and Karen “Peaches” Puckett; and a grandchild Raidyn T. from Katherine L. and Blake Smith.
Ginger retired from Metro in October 2006 after being diagnosed with kidney cancer stage IV, and was being treated at the Nevada Cancer Institute. Ginger loved life and her husband of 35 years, and leaves behind many people whom she touched with her positive bright life.
Services for Ginger will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Hwy, Henderson, on May 17, 2011, at 10am for the Rosary and testimony, at 11am for the Mass, and a luncheon following afterward.
