Wayne Kaui Sam-Fong

Wayne Kaui Sam-Fong passed away in his sleep at his Las Vegas home on the morning of December 14, 2017.

Wayne was born on December 10, 1942 at Waimea Hospital, Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii, to William Sam-Fong and Margaret Fellez Sam-Fong.

He leaves behind his wife Margarita Sam-Fong, children Ke’ola, Kaimi, Waynette, Le’iwa, Jerry, Mel, Sashalita, Brian, Ali’i, Juan, Sandra, Hugo, Veronica, Garrett, Jose, Nancy, Miguel, Luis, Yessenia, Adan, and Leslie.

Wayne was the third youngest of ten children, and is preceded in death by his parents William and Margaret, sisters Margaret Sam Fong and Amo’e Freitas, brothers Merlin and Warren, and brothers-in-law Sonny Tuzon, James Freitas, and Bicente Delanoza.

He is survived by his siblings Merna Tuzon of Waimea, Kauai, Ahlun Delanoza of Kekaha, Kauai, Ray (wife Honey) of Wailua, Kauai, Lani Silva of Stockton, California, Bert (wife Primrose) of Kihei, Maui, and Shirley Ann of Kekaha, Kauai, numerous nieces and nephews, and 32 grandchildren.

Wayne was greatly loved and respected by his fellow Church members, and was known for his kindness to others and his service to those in need.

Wayne’s funeral service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1707 S. Sloan Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada 89142 on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 1:00pm, after a 12:00pm viewing.
