William (Bill) Floyd Angle
William (Bill) Floyd Angle, age 85, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in the Renown Hospital in Reno, Nevada, Washoe County from complications of lung disease.
Bill was born on September 1, 1933 in New Straightsville, Ohio to Andrew Darrell Angle and Frances Marie (Applegate) Angle and was the first son and second child born in the family. Bill graduated from New Lexington High School and served in the United States Armed Forces, Army Division from July 1954 to June 1956.
Bill met and married Marjorie Carol Ling on September 16, 1958. They are the parents of three children: Rosana Sorensen, Angela Stanton and Andrew Angle.
He enjoyed numerous hobbies with his family such as racing go karts, photography, wood working, leather crafting, C.B. radio, remote control airplanes, drawing and sketching, off-roading, camping, target shooting, archery, and bird watching. Bill was founder and first president of the Kinsman Kart Club in Vacaville California, and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 34 in Northern California. He was involved in Y-Indian Guides and coached Pop Warner Football.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he faithfully served in many callings including: Sunday School President, Scout Master, Ward Missionary, Primary teacher, Bishopric Counselor, and most notably, Young Men’s President at age 80. He and Marge served two missions: the first as managers of the Bishop’s Storehouse in Columbus, Ohio, and the second as Family Services Specialists for the Addiction Recovery Program in Reno, Nevada.
Bill was a great hobbyist and a self-taught man. He was a man of faith and love for his Heavenly Father and the plan of redemption. He loved the beauties of this world and exploring the treasure it offered. In retirement he and Marge spent eight years traveling the U.S.A. in their motorhome exploring God’s creations, enjoying historic sites, and meeting new friends. He was a man of quick wit and could always make his family laugh.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie (Ling) Angle of Sun Valley, NV, children Rosana (Donnie) Sorensen of Orem UT, Angela (Greg) Stanton of Santa Rosa, CA, and Andrew (Vanessa) Angle of Sparks, NV. Grandchildren: Jeremiah Sorensen, Taylor Sorensen, Aaron Sorensen, Frances Grover, Sarah Graham, Madison Eldridge, and Dakota Eldridge. Great-grandchildren: Lincoln and Oakley Sorensen, and Nora and George Grover. Siblings JoEllen (Angle) Vigon, and Andrea Angle.
Proceeded in death by his parents Andrew Darrell Angle and Frances Marie (Applegate) Angle. Sisters Evelyn (Angle) Wolfe, Flossie (Angle) Mitchell, and brother Steven Angle. His grandchildren Brandon William Angle, Mollie Rose Sorensen, and Rachel Anne Sorensen.
Funeral Services
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 20, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sun Valley Chapel, 570 E 4th Avenue, Sun Valley, NV 89433. Viewing will be at the Sun Valley Chapel in the Relief Society Room from 10:00 to 10:50 AM and funeral services will be in the chapel from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. A luncheon will be held immediately following funeral services at the church.
Graveside Service will be 9:00 AM, Tuesday April 23, 2019 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Veterans Way, Fernley, NV 89408. The grave dedication will be given by Donnie Sorensen (son-in-law).
